807 Moon on the Rocks

807 Moon on the Rocks

The moon came up well before sunset and the sky was still fairly bright when this image of Courthouse Rock and Cathedral Rock was captured.

800 Kokopelli Moon

800 Kokopelli Moon

This image was captured without a telescope two nights before the full moon.  Many people say that they see rabbit ears on the face of the moon, but my wife observed that this image is more reminiscent of the hunch-backed flute-playing prankster of native Southwestern lore dating back at least 3000 years.  Kokopelli is a Hopi word.

801 Moonshadows on Airport Vortex

801 Moon-shadows on Airport Vortex

This image was captured after midnight with only moonlight for illumination.

802 The Big Dipper on Moonlit Desert

802 The Big Dipper Over a Moonlit Desert

803 Moonlight on VOC

803 Moonlight on VOC (the Village of Oak Creek)

The moon was quite bright whenever it poked through the clouds.

804 Moon on RR Xing

804 Moonlight on Red Rock Crossing

805 Fay Canyon in Moonlight

806 Enchanted Moonlight

806 Enchanted Moonlight

The line of light to the left of center near the bottom of this image is from the Enchantment Resort.  This image was purposely over-exposed to bring out the details in the rocks with only moonlight for a light source.
